Recently I was asked by Wellington World Travels to list my 5 travel must-haves. It wasn’t hard to come up with them quickly. It was part of a collaborative post that had a TON of great tips from travel bloggers. Take a peek at the full list on Wellington World Travels HERE. From the essential to the creative, it’s pretty comprehensive. Here are a few of my personal favorites!

My 5 Travel Must Haves
I love to journal (check out this DIY one here). It’s a great way to just record things – directions, thoughts, travel suggestions – and it’s also a fun place to store mementos such as postcards and receipts. This one from Rifle Paper Co is gorgeous!
A luggage scale is such a lifesaver! It’s nice to know if your suitcase is over or underweight. We’ve been on many trips where we shuffle things around from suitcase to suitcase to even it out so that they are both under 50 pounds. These little buggers really help out and are easy to use.
Theftproof, Charging Backpack
I have this exact backpack, and it is so nice to have the confidence that my items are secure. It doesn’t hold a ton, but it’s great as a daypack to house essentials like your phone, wallet, and a few snacks. With lots of compartments and a weatherproof shield, it really is convenient. The charging and theftproof aspects are a big plus!
Plane Sleeping Kit
I’m a pro at sleeping on a plane (post coming soon!), so I definitely have a sleep set. Have a good travel pillow and sleep mask – trust me they help. I always arrive refreshed and ready to explore my next stop!
You never know when you’ll need a swimsuit. Whether your location has a pool or hot tub or a beach nearby (lucky you!), I’ve often been caught with surprise bathing suit moments. One even came in handy in China when we basically had group showers!
