Have one night in San Francisco? I’d suggest the Hotel Griffon! I adore boutique hotels because they are unique, well attended to, and often provide a one-of-a-kind experience. All of the above are true with this San Francisco boutique hotel. Read on to see why!
I received a complimentary stay at Hotel Griffon, but all opinions are genuine and my own.
I adored my room! There’s just something about going away and having a super clean, fresh space to have all to yourself. The bed was comfy, and the extra space to spread out was welcomed. With a large bathroom, reading nook, couch and office area, it gave me the feeling of having my own spacious apartment for the night. Divine! I had a view of the Embarcadero, but other rooms offer outdoor spaces with city views.
Hotel Griffon is a San Francisco boutique hotel that has outlooks which are hard to beat! Below are the scenes from my room – both of the waterfront and the area near the ferry building. Although there was a lot of activity, my room was quiet, and it was actually so nice to see how alive the area was. People were walking, running and generally just enjoying the pier and waterfront area. So lovely!
Ok, I’ll admit that I’m a toiletry snob, so I’m always thankful when there are quality ones available. I had never tried this brand, but I truly enjoyed using them. Yay! P.S. They smelled fab.
Right across from the hotel is a pier, which offers such pretty scenery. I also adored the tile art all around of boats from different eras. It’s worth a look. Also, glancing back on the city (and Hotel Griffon!) offers a mix of historic and modern buildings. It was a bit foggy, but I still enjoyed taking a peek.

Love outdoor markets? Well, the Ferry Building Marketplace offers that feel, yet it’s indoors. I had such a great time walking around and taking a peek into all of the lovely shops. Whether you are looking for home decor items, flowers, food (oh the variety!) or a souvenir to take home (like that beautiful candy), it’s a fun place to peruse if you have time.
One thing I couldn’t get over was how lush and green everything was in San Francisco! I happened upon a lovely park in the city, and it was full of…succulents. They were huge, and there were so many colors. Truly stunning. I’ve only ever seen small ones, but California knows how to grow succulents big!
Long heralded as a majestic creature, I was obviously very curious about the name “Hotel Griffon”. I was fortunate enough to see the actual griffon itself, which used to reside in the lobby. He’s a bit ferocious, but this mythical animal actually represents courage, boldness, protection, intelligence and leadership. Interesting!
i loved my time at this san francisco boutique hotel!
