Ok, I’m just going to fess up right away and say that I didn’t take a photo of the homemade empanadas. I literally scarfed mine down and didn’t even think about snapping an image. But I wanted to show you this adorable shop that I stumbled upon during my trip with Traverse Journeys.
Finding Homemade Empanadas
While I was in Lisbon, we took a street art tour. It was wonderful to see all of the gorgeous art and graffiti in so many forms all over Portugal – I have a HUGE post on that coming soon. But…the day we took our tour in Lisbon with Lisbon Street Art Tours, it was rainy. And cold. We were trying to enjoy every moment as we shivered along the way.
A downpour started, so we walked a bit and then darted into the cutest little shop. They served homemade empanadas (I had spinach) along with warm cider. It was the perfect way to warm up on a chilly day. The inside of Union was so bright and cheery, so I snapped a few photos while we warmed up inside.
It is SO cold in my hometown in Virginia right now that I was reminiscing about this little spot and time with friends. So enjoy, and if you want to check out the little cafe’s site, click here.
